§ 4-103. Use of certain lead solder, flux and pipes in installation and repair of plumbing work prohibited.

  • (a)

    The use of solder and flux containing more than point two (0.2) percent lead in the installation or repair of any building providing water for human consumption is prohibited.

    (b)

    The use of pipes and fittings containing more than eight (8) percent lead in the installation or repair of any public water system or in any plumbing in any building providing water for human consumption is prohibited.

    (c)

    The building official shall be responsible for ensuring that all new construction and repair of structures within the city are in compliance with this section.

    (d)

    Violation of this section shall be considered a misdemeanor and shall be punishable as determined by the municipal court.
